It is true, there are various sized bodies available from Olympus. Problem to me is, that high end functions and capabilities are not available in smallest bodies. EM5 mk3 finally got phase detection, but still does not have all functions found in big brother EM1 mk2.

Same goes for Panasonic - I had G9 which was great, but for my intended use quiet big. GX series which would be "right size" for me, lack capabilities and functions found in G9.

So, if one choose smaller body, there will be several compromises made - some are understandable (physical limitations) and some are there only due to market segmentation.

Currently I don't own any m4/3 body, but am holding few lenses and waiting for next generation of bodies. In the meantime I use Nikon Z which, with "consumer" lenses is not that much bigger than m4/3 system that I had.

It would be nice if my E-M5 III had all the features and processing power of my E-M1 III, same innards, smaller body. But, I also would have to assume that, if it were technically doable, the price for such a camera would be the same as the larger bodied model.

You don’t have to put everything to be competitive you can segment by for example FPS drive It you could still include many of the other competitive tricks

the em5.3 would have been more competitive vs market had it had HHHR for example at that price

it should have has detailed jpeg processing option at least
