As to ways to deal with the vignette of the 1.4 and loss of an f/ stop on the K-1, just shoot in square format and you enter the Hassy zone.

Plus leave your wide-angle lens at home, add a good tripod+pano mount and get better results by shooting longer exposure square format pano landscapes.

The HD 1.4 TC adds great flexibility to my kit. Might do the same for you.
