Hi Doug, thanks for your suggestion. I actually tried out a mindshift bag I borrowed from my dad. I liked the practicality of it, but I went on a hike of around 20 km and was unhappy with how the weight was distributed on my back. It got quite uncomfortable about halfway. My dad likes it, but also does not go on very long hikes anymore. So I guess that checks out.
