Lenses don't all work with older bodies. The aperture ring was removed from DA and D-FA lenses so you can't use those on a Pre "A" film camera (not that DA would cover the whole image).

I successfully use DA 35/2.4, 50/1.8 and 70/2.4 on film. Of course, full frame digital is more demanding.

What does successfully use mean? What camera?

Z-1P, MZ-30, *ist

Could you set aperture?

Yes, in camera. Works in all PASM modes.

The *ist and MZ-30 can't work with an aperture ring unless it's set to "A". The Z-1P can work with any aperture.
