Re: Counting my blessings with the Z7II and the 24-200

I bought the 24 70 F4 with my Z7ii as is was so very inexpensive on the recent deal it would have been mad to pass it up…just a little over £300. I’m tempted by the 24 200. For those who have both lenses are there circumstances where you pick the 24 70 F4?
My travel often involves tightly packed European cities and indoor shooting so wide open and wide FLs are what I use. With my 24 120 I rarely used the 120 end to the point where I realised the 24 85 would have been fine. Of course there are occasions where 100 to 200 would be useful….it’s tough working out whether I’ll gain enough from the 24 200. Had it been F4 throughout it would tempt me more but maybe at longer FLs I’d be outside so F6.3 would be ok.

There is the argument that the 24 70 f2.8 is what I need but the f4 is a sensible compromise taking into account size and weight. I fear that even at 50mm with the 24 200 I’d miss the larger apertures. Yes I can up the ISO…but that’s not always the answer.

There is a 14 24 in my future so that takes care of some indoor work.
