Sometimes you'll like to have things compact. And it takes a zoom to zoom. And once you're accepting that kind of IQ it probably doesn't matter anymore anyway.
I would stick with the powershot, and invest the money to upgrade to R6, R5, or any other future RF body. The AF of the R would be my first concern when worrying about AF.
he doesn’t like weight
he got hurt on the RF 28-70
he is selling the RF 24-240
the Powershot focus and slow lens sucks
the iPhone 12 Pro is a better solution than powershot
supplement the iPhone 12 Pro with the m6II + 32 + 56 - that gives 4 focal lengths for the snaps he takes in compact fashion
If the RF f/4.0 L 24-105 is still too big, and you're still asking for brighter zooms on M, your suggestion might be the best option idd. No zoom is ever gonna satisfy, especially if you own the RF f/2.0.
I was shooting with my 40mm Art yesterday. I got the second vaccine the day before, and therefor my arms didn't like the weight all that much. I changed to the EF 35mm f/2.0 IS USM and accepted f/2.8 to maintain reasonable good IQ. Problem solved. The RF 35mm f/1.8 would do even better. After a while my arms where so relieved they could accept the 50 Art.
A couple of primes is heavy in the bag, but a light weight on your camera.
i agree with this. Love the EF 35 on FF
for me the RP + RF 24-105 L was acceptable 1 handed wrist strap weight for covering best ever lens and 4x zoom range and best ever SOOC jpgs and pleasing colors
My next step is to update to iPhone 12 Pro.
then we’ll see where I go from there.
