You can type it or say it, but it isn't meaningful.  If you want to say that it is like 896mm on a FF camera, then you must also multiply the 8 by 1.6, too, because it is like an 896mm f/12.8 on a FF with not a lot of pixels (39% of whatever the entire frame has).

The AF happens at f/8, but noise, DOF, and diffraction are like f/12.8 on the full frame.

That's a good thing about the R5; it will have better-sampled, less aliased captures with marginal lens sharpness.
