I am in discussions with a used seller about at EF 70-200 II for an attractive lens. Single owner lens in great condition. I figure I can't go wrong acquiring this lens and seeing if it serves my purposes. If it doesn't, I can resell it or add a longer tool.

I have the EF 70-200L II also and it is an awesome lens.  If you are using this for indoor sports, then I'd recommend the R5 over R6 for the cropping ability.  With an EF 100-400L II (as I discussed in a previous thread), you don't have the constant aperture, and an R6 would be fine, ie., more zoom vs cropping.
