Mostly macro or standard with macro capability?

If you want a lens that is mostly for macro work, it is a little short - unless all your shooting is in a studio with good light sources.

I have a few macro options. If I am using a macro lens to shoot something like currency, a shorter lens can be good, otherwise the stand setup gets complicated. But if I am walking around, or shooting living things, it is too short for true macro work - 100mm, or longer, is better.
