Re: Why Olympus is an ACE in all sizes !

Olympus has lost its body size advantage long ago, today you can get many FF cameras smaller than the EM1, while Fujis entire APSC lineup is similar in size to Olympus lineup you listed above.

Many companies are now focusing on small FF lenses (Samyang, Sigma i-series, new sony G primes, voigtlander…) which match or exceed the quality and size of some of the mid-point m43 lenses

Olympus is also losing its main competitive advantage in IBIS, its still better than competition, but they are catching up rapidly, and many are already good enough.

Others will soon figure out how to do HHHR, after all its just computational power required.

Olympus will generally lose the IQ race with larger sensors, and the gap will grow as more RD is put behind FF sensors which soon will all have BSI and 60+MP with.super fast readout

Olympus used to have the best AF in mirrorless, but has now been surpassed by almost everyone

Olympus saw the constraints they faced and had a choice tomake, either invest heavily and chart a new course for their cameras that does not involve constant comparisons against FF, or exit and divest. I thunk Olympus knew this many years ago and that is why we have seen little to no tangible, market-moving advances frommOlympus since the EM1ii in 2016

OMDS (new Olympus owners) need a new strategy where they can move this business to a place where they are not competing on specs and price, or else the decline will just accelerate

None of this will impact on someones current enjoyment of their Olympus gear, but all of this will continue to drive the exodus from Olympus…see Pentax as an example. That means less RD investment, fewer new products and technology that continues to lag the competition.
