How to have my photography appreciated, or mean something?

I try to shoot things that will never happen again, which is one reason portraits of friends n family mean something to me. My daughter will never be alive at 10yo on this day ever again and her grandmother is 68, not exactly a spring chicken.

Every moment of a loved one is a once in a lifetime moment, for this reason portraiture seems the most "meaningful" genre. I agree most landscape shots and such are one of a billion. I try to find moments and subjects that won't happen often or ever again.
