Elegant, replies, gentlemen. And the most practically immediate and compelling is to put a 300mm lens on a Pentax Q! Please, please, please if someone out there has a Q with the Pentax lens adapter... could you sneak up on some Large Bird and see how it looks... sharp feathers? Beyond that, did anyone ever make a Pentax lens adapter for a Minox? Or, in today's world, for an Apple iPhone? Possibilities that boggle the mind...

I will but it might take a couple of days. I have all the gear plus a bird feeder, but I may have to camp out in my neighbours yard

OK, for the fun of it a couple of quick shots from this morning. As mentioned elsewhere really only suitable for static subjects (manual focus with focus peaking) using a tripod. DOF is narrow of course.

Taken with Q-S1 + Pentax Adapter Q for K mount + DA*300/f4. Aperture was set on the adapter at +1, i.e., f/5.6. The reluctant bird at the feeder was ~6-7m away, the flower ~4m. OOC JPGs. I might play some more with it tomorrow.
