In AFC mode the back button focus doesn’t provide confidence you are in focus or not. It should be as fast as AFS but a lot of the time I press it once and it hunts, so I hold it a little longer and go to take the shot only to see it can sometimes miss focus even after green square appears.
Quite annoying, plus you cant even use focus check in this mode either so might have to give up and go back to AFS unless you can share some tips.

Am I wrong or are you just having trouble with AF-C? What happens if you aren't using back button focus - do you have the same issues?

AFC in general with Fuji, yes. Just isnt as snappy or accurate as AFS, or seems to be anyway.

Perhaps the way contrast is inherently more fussy to focus with mirrorless is the issue combined woth how continuous focus can behave.

Today though I’m having a better time with it on my Fuji after increasing my focus square to third largest. Definitely feels more responsive and I do want to stick with back button focusing one way or another.
