These never let me down

Modern: Tamron 35 f/1.8

The Tamron is an exceptionally versatile lens. It isn't simply a very sharp, nicely fast 35, but it also has an incredibly short minimum distance.

Vintage: Mamiya Sekor 55 f/1.4

The Mamiya is the same, though different due to the manual focus challenge. It too is really sharp, has good contrast, nice colors, and more. It just never lets me down.

Here is an article I wrote on it: https://casualphotophile.com/2021/07/19/mamiya-sekor-55mm-f-1-4-usm-lens-review/
