It seems to me that Android's voice-to-text dictation for messaging is much worse than it was a year or two ago.
- it never learns how to spell my pet's name
- makes grammar errors of number and tense
- inserts words that are ridiculous in context
- adds "oh" in contexts that are unfathomable
I don't remember any of these problems several years ago.
I deliberately haven't upgraded my google pixel 3a, so no change for me.
Yeah, could be that Moto One gets worse service because it is inexpensive, and Motorola.
I'm curious how do you transer your files to your PC (if you do)?
Last time I tried it, I plugged a USB-C to USB-A cable into my Linux Mint laptop, which recognized the phone (inbuilt storage and SD card) as filesystems.
Haven't tried this since I got a Macbook. Might not work. I don't believe Apple supports Android much at all.
I can only select and transfer about 100 audio/transcription files at a time. Which is a real PTA. With my dyslexia it's tough to keep track of where I am in the list, since I can't just "Select all", and I have to write down which files are next to mark and copy
I used the Linux command line - easier.
Also, how would you train the program to spell your pet's name? I haven't seen any way to give the program feedback on spelling
Hard to say, but my Sony phone did it. Our dog is named Wiley, or Wylie, or while he, or Wily, or Wile E (Chihuahua) in descending order of likeliness.

thanks for the response
google locked down the folder with the recordings and transcriptions pretty good.
I can attach the phone to my laptop and transfer files from the phone, but not from the protected folder with the audio/transcriptions
apparently the phone could be "rooted" which would work "goiing forward" but unfortunately the phone automatically deletes the files during the rooting process.
*sigh*
It's such a PITA that I've become resistant to even using the transcriptions - the thought of having to manually go thru and mark the files one-at-a-time is very discoraging.
