Love my Tamron 85mm (spectacular on my 800E). I’ve been testing and calibrating it on my new Z 7II and the AF is sporadic at best. Sometimes it’ll focus (AS with single area focus) and sometimes it just won’t do any thing. Anything with less than extreme contrast/texture and it just sits there… Does anyone else have this problem or have a fix?

Seems on the whole Tamron are more problematic than Sigmas.
When I was a Pentax guy I used a lot of Tamron, since switching to Nikon, soon ten years ago, I have just had one, the 70-300 VC, which was excellent, except the stitches on the lens body worked loose. And it suffered from a veiling flare.
Sadly, no good advice, beyond get the AF-S 85/1,8. Loved by many ...
