Re: Four Weeks with the X100V

Great write up. Your words and images really nail the essence of the x100 series. You appear to have a great eye for the kind of photography that camera was absolutely designed to engage in.

I recently decided to 'upgrade' to xpro3 (from x100v) and i am feeling a ton of regret at the size of the xpro3 and lack great 23mm option (none are really as good as the current x100 pancake imo). Honestly I think having ONLY the x100 series as a camera keeps me in a happy spot creatively and with simplicity and peace of mind. Worrying about which focal lengths to bring and use is stressful!

Re: stranger photography. I assume by your name you are female. That's an advantage! I live in a small town with a large university and lots of students about. Honestly the females are more photogenic, dress nicer etc so one is tempted to photograph them more. Being male makes it seem more suspicious and 'creepy'.

ONe thing that helps is to have an active instagram acct and a card with a representative street image and your insta link. My card says that 'in no way do i intend to use these images to exploit or embarass anybody'. That helps to diffuse most of the few 'situations' i find myself in with subjects. Although people are suspicious they are also aware of the joy and benefits of photography in general and can relate to an artistic insta feed. Happy shooting, keep us updated!
