I've bought a Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4.0. Yes it needs corrections in post, but it's a light weight lens, very affordable and pretty good. The RF f/4.0 14-35mm is 1850 euro, my second hand Tamron was only 300 euro.

The overall size and weight of the Tamron 17-35mm di OSD is very close to the 14-35mm as well

RF 14-35mm = 100mm long and 540g

Tamron 17-35mm mounted on adapter = 116mm long and 570g overall.

Essentially the same in the real world.

Amongst the affordable options the Tamron is the light weight option.  I'm sure the RF lens will be a very portable option, and I also expect it to be the better lens for IQ, as it's both wide angle and mirrorless design, kind of 11-22mm performance multiplied by full frame performance, a higher price tag, coatings, etc.  I expect it to be a great lens, worth it's price for many, but not for me.

For many people, 17mm f2.8 may be more useful than 14mm f4.

I never run into situations needing wider than the 11mm of the ef-m 11-22mm.  I did run into situations needing more light with that lens.
