This will give you a good idea of what's in store for you. Doesn't look too bad for what you will see. Be sure to take a tele with you (but not too heavy 😁).

Wow! Spectacular video. I’m pretty sure the hike will stretch my abilities to the limit, but I honestly can’t imagine passing up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see an active volcano close up. Unfortunately, my choice of teles is pretty limited. I would have to bring some combination of 16-55, 8-16, and 100-400. From what I saw in the video, I’m guessing that the 16-55 would likely be the most useful lens for this area. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Worst case, if I really needed something else, I could consider a rental.

A good copy of the 55-200 would be a lightweight asset. And it can be used for more than the volcano. It was a valuable lens on my Icelqnd trip until something happened to it. Maybe you can rent one? Can't be that pricey.

Good advice, Bob, thanks. I don't think I'd get enough use out of it to justify a purchase, however, a rental might very well be the right way to do for this trip. I'll definitely look into it.
