If you compare a ~35mm lens at f/4 on DX to a 50mm lens at f/4 on FX you will also notice the same depth of field.

That's not correct a 35mm f/4 APS-C is equivalent to 54mm f/6.1 lens on FF. From both lenses you get the same FOV, DOF, and SNR.

That's also not true unless you change the subject distance and CoC one vs the other. If you keep the subject distance the same and use the same CoC the DoF will differ in your example

Nope, the subject distance doesn't change for equivalent lenses.

I did the math...may have gotten wrong of course... but keeping subject distance/CoC equal in your example...the DoF is not the same.

As I mentioned in cut out portion of the previous post, COC at the focal plane is inversely proportional to the crop factor. It's obvious as you have to enlarge smaller image proportionally more.

Yes...and in your example the DoF is not the same. To say it is, is not correct

Let's try again. We established that for equivalent lenses N (f-number), f (focal length), and c (COC) are all inversely proportional to the crop factor. Use your own formula above and see the crop factor is cancelled, the DOF for equivalent lenses is the same.

Perhaps I didn't understand your objections, and you are saying that my actual calculations are incorrect. Let's see, APS-C crop factor is 1.53, so

35mm*1.53 = 53.55mm
4 * 1.53 = 6.12
