Re: Some of my WWII series

These are not new images, sorry. I haven't been out doing photography. The weather here has been just horrible since we got back from Ocracoke - extraordinary heat, humidity and deluges. Summer here is normally not my favorite time of year, but this year is n a class by itself. At least living up on the mountain we don't have any flooding - would probalby see the Ark going by first. Anyway, to start us off. here are some images I have done in an effort to do period-types WWII shots:

Marine F4F Wildcat pilot returning from a mission over Midway:

German U-Boat officers on leave in Lorient:

Young Flying Tiger pilot with his Curtis P-40 in China:

On the home front:

Highlanders in England just before D-Day:

Japanese pilot with his Kate bomber on Guadalcanal before the invasion:

Russian master sergeant in Kursk:

Luftwaffe ME-109 pilot in North Africa:

US B-24 pilot in Italy with local talent:

Greg

I like these, all very "of the time" so well done.  I guess the originals were at re-enactment shows. I mentioned before that a friend locally has several genuine second world war vehicles.  His Sherman is a film star, having appeared in the film Fury.

Regards,
David
