The Pany 200mm is nearly as heavy as the 300mm Pro, so it won't be a good fit for you.

For what it's worth, the Panasonic 50-200mm is nearly as sharp (but one stop slower), weighs only 650gm and takes the Panasonic 1.4x TC very well. I own this lens. But I did not mention it because you need more than 300mm for birding, typically. With a 2x TC, it is less sharp than the Pany 100-400.
