Re: Tamron 28-200: how well is your lens centered?

Mine has been very good. I never needed to exchange it.   I typically take a few brick wall shots with every lens purchase but if i cant spot it than its not a problem for me.  The 28-200 is quite incredible because it gives me so much freedom.  Its very good for hikes and its fast enough to handle evenings.  For indoor or night shots or low light I prefer 1.4 primes. But outside between morning and evening the 28-200 handles everything as long as you can keep the shutter fast.  I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference with the sony 24-105 (which I also had) other than colors and Bokeh.  In my opinion any zoom is a compromise but this one is not going to give up much compared to premium lenses which are half the range, double the weight and cost.
