Re: TG-6 cosistenly overexposus

In the end, I'll call the "do they all do that" question unanswered, pro or con. Was this particular camera defective? I don't think so, but that's purely a subjective observation. Lemon, or "they all do that", the camera flunked with the end user, my wife. The idea of having to tweak the EV was a deal breaker. The short tele range compared to her previous camera (Nikon AW130), killed any possibility of "trust me, you'll take better pictures for turning that handy knob, right here".

Macro isn't in her range of interest (street and landscape, mostly), and focus stacking... yeah, well, if EV doesn't work for her...

The replacement is a Panasonic DC-ZS200. The "no twiddling needed" part makes her happy. The zoom range verges on making the camera a bridge camera, count it a positive thing. I'm happy because I can set the camera to JPEG+RAW. Chris gets JPEGS to send to friends and family. I get "can you make this bigger" files that stand enlarging, and general tuning.

The 500 pound canary in the corner is the camera isn't weatherproof. And we're headed for the desert Southwest. Read "dusty, dusty, dusty".

In the end, as with all cameras, it's down weighing pros and cons and hoping to read the scale correctly.
