Only if such additional info is sent and processed. The big question is whether Canon has done anything more than encase the EF lens + adaptor in a unified casing

That's the question. What will the RF model do different than its EF counterpart. I say we don't know at the moment

Definetively sounds like more than just an adaptor.  Anyway, we'll soon have some answers.
