CPS is a service / support function. Sales guys probably want to sell instead. They probably want the optics of having all the optics in RF mount as long as it is same or better than EF. Only Canon can tell why they made that decision

As I said in the very first response to this topic, it’ll be very interesting to hear from people who have had a chance to use both lenses when the RF version gets out in circulation.
