Re: Best zoom lens for hiking?

Admittedly, the camera has small sensor, but I have a Fujifilm X30 which I've traveled with throughout both North and South America. Those travels included hiking, road touring and strolling around various cities. The X30 has (affixed to the camera) a zoom lens of 28mm to 112mm at F/2.8 (in 35mm equivalent). While admittedly I'm not "a long lens guy," I find that this zoom range gives me just about anything I need for travel (including hiking) photography.
