You can get a good copy of EF 24-70/2.8 II under us $ 1,000 if you are lucky enough.
RF lens are overpriced due to the shrinking market. less production means higher price.
In most case, There have no difference between EF- L and RF-L Lens.
I had experienced the Keep rate of EF lenses on R5 body is higher than on DSLR.
EF 24-70/2.8 II is one of the greatest lens from Canon. This lens sold a lot of cameras.
In Poland it is almost impossible to get USM II under 1000 USD. The cheapest second hand is 1500 USD. I ordered the new Sigma 24-70 with 2yrs of warranty for 1400 USD. The RF 24-70 is 2580 USD.
I am aware of two things:
- Sigma is less sharp around the edges, whereas EF USM II is much sharper. It might be critical for landscape, which is not my kind of photography.
- Sigma must work via adapter (as EF USM II too).
It's possible the Sigma has a bit smoother bokeh compared to the Canon EF mkII. I have the latter and it can be a bit harsh in some cases. It might be worth it to do some research on bokeh.
