Achieving full AF on non-compatible f5.6 lenses with TC
1

Hi.

Discovered a couple of years ago that if you mount a TC (ex. Canon) 1,4 FIRST on the camera, then TURN ON the camera, and finally mount it on the lens you achieve full working AF - on non-compatible lenses; Sigma 300-800/f56

If you do the usual way, putting the TC on the lens first it wont work at all.

The results are astonishing when you realize that you can use the 9-group AF-points, although a bit slower, for BIF shots. Canon 5DsR normally only uses center point and 4 helpers on f8.

Some very small samples. Golden Eagle and Raven about 900 yards away. Focal length was 1023mm, 731mm x 1,4.
