Before buying the TG-6 I was actually pleased to note that it is using a smaller sensor. A 1"-sensor would cause it to be a different camera, the overall dimensions and weight would go up, as it would the price.

Much as I hate using the TG-6 in bright light (can't see anything on the screen), I do think it's a fine camera that has a lot to offer to young folks using it underwater, on hikes, on the beach, or rafting as shown in this thread.

A lot of very small cameras have a one-inch sensor (Sony RX100 series for example) but I agree it would increase the price.

At the same time, I think a lot people would be willing to pay a little more for the qualities of a larger sensor.  (I could be wrong.   )
