Need camcorder with 3.5mm mic input recommendations

My parents would like to make 1 hour talking-head workshop videos, and I'd like to get them up & running with an autonomous setup that doesn't require me or my gear, so that they will have the flexibility of making a video whenever they want.

I think that I've got audio pretty much sorted out, but they need a camera with a 3.5mm microphone input.

I was thinking of a camcorder with the following specs:

  • 1080P resolution
  • 1/2" sensor
  • 30mm full frame equivalent focal length when zoomed out
  • 3.5mm microphone input
  • Writes to SD cards

I'm looking for the cheapest viable option, as I don't think that the camcorder will be used for any other purpose, and they might only make 6 videos a year, so it can be an older used model. Does anything come to mind below $300?

Decent low light performance is a plus, as they will be using old photography monolights, and the modeling light feature isn't very bright.

P.S. I tried to make my Dad's 5D Mark II work by installing MagicLantern and capturing the HDMI feed in OBS, but no matter what settings I selected, I couldn't get it to output anything over VGA resolution (see this thread).
