I use the RF 50 1.2 for events and when I want F1.2. I use the RF 50 1.8 when I want a cheap and light walk around lens. I definitely wouldnt want to carry around these giant f1.8 from Nikon as a walk around lens, and I would definitely miss F1.2 when I want it.

Canon doesn't need to answer for the Nikon F1.8 series, nor does Nikon have to have an answer for Canon's 1.2 system. Each system has their own niche in the market and most people are smart enough buy into the system that provides what they need.

I would prefer a system with both the Nikkor Z f/1.8 and the Canon RF f/1.2.

The small Canon RF f/1.8 has a place, but it's not for me.

Lets have Canons 1.2, a Nikon like 1.8, and a 50 2.5 that's really sharp wide open and small (think Leica's 50 2.5 or a smaller version of Voigtlander's 50 2 APO).

In that scenario I'd probably skip the Nikon like 50 1.8, but I can see where it could be a one lens solution to someone's 50mm needs.
