M50 with EF 50/2.5 and EF 100/2.8 older macro lenses

Thanks in advance for sharing experience adapted to M50, for either the

old "compact macro" 50mm f/2.5  1:2 FF

pre-IS 100mm f/2.8 USM macro   1:1 FF
way back, I had a couple of original EF lenses  and I found the AF-MF switch and focus ring as on the 50mm  were OK to use if not great, I also realize the 28mm M and the 35mm or 60mm EF-S are much newer...   these older macros second-hand look appealing on paper as a compact, hike or travel AF supplement to adapted manual non-EF 90mm I use with tubes or TC when time and weight don't matter.

I'd like to make sure these two older macro lenses don't lose some functions when adapted EF to EF-M.

How does their AF work with M50 for non-macro use such as portrait or landscape?

Does metering work OK?
Usually I shoot single shot center AF and aperture priority, use MF often, and mapped DOF preview to video button.
