Love this lens and price - also looking forward to reviews. Also love the look of the new ZFC (although no desire to go crop); hope it sells well and they put out a FF version (I do understand their trepidation after the DF, but I think where they hurt themselves there was not giving it the best technology. Make a smaller, more manual, better looking FF Z with the 28 and 40 and I think there could be a market).

There is a market for a FF Z with a aclassic look. Years ago I bought a FE and used for sometime, later I sold it because the film development was too much and I like digital photography more.

A compact FF maybe sonething like a Z6c or Z5c would have good sales figures

I would think so, but I could see how Nikon's experience with the DF would make them cautious.

Maybe the DF had the wrong sensor (not enough Mpix)  and was too expensive. I bought a D750 and never thought about a DF - 16Mpix is not competitve compared with 24 Mpix and the price is still at a level of a Z7 II  today.  If you take a Z5 or Z6II  and put in i  a retro package not too expensive, than that's a different story. There should be also 3-5 retro lenses ( a retro 24-70f4 and some light tetro design primes -  28f2.8, 40 f2, 85 f2.8  )  It should not be a huge problem to produce nowadays the same lenses in different designs
