What is a good Deep Space Astrophotography setup for a beginner?

I am asking for a friend who wants to start learning astrophotography from scratch. He has a budget of around £1000-£1200 GBP and is currently looking at an EQ3 Pro with a WO SpaceCat51 and a ZWO non cooled mono.

Would this be a decent setup, or does anyone have any other ideas?
