What is the next step up in sensor sizes, or have we come to the end?

In the beginning of digital sensors, large sensor was impossible and/or extremely expensive so we all shot crop formats.

And now the market is moving over more and more to "full frame" sensored cameras and even the small medium format sensors in Hasselblad X1D and Fujis GFX systems are becoming more and more popular and with lower prices.

What is next? And when? Will we soon get 6x6 cm true medium format sensors and again new systems to cope with the larger image circle or have we reached the end for that type of development?

Mirrorless, mirrorless on the wall, say which is the best camera of them all?
When I put my camera in Manual mode, why don't I get any instructions?
