What does Raspberry Pi have to do with Linux desktop use?!

Raspberry Pi is basically a third-party evaluation board for Broadcom SoC, priced for electronics hobbyist market. It has nothing to do with any kind of consumer product.

It certainly wasn't designed as an evaluation board, nor is it sold as one!

The intention is different, however the end result is the same.

Oh, just checked.

Various models of BeagleBoard, some of them nearly identical to Raspberry Pi, are now sold as "official" development / evaluation boards by TI, the company that makes SoCs in them.
