Photographing red flowers in natural light.
2

Does anyone have any tips on photography of red flowers in natural light? Most red flowers seem to get blown out. Also I very often find that AF struggles to find focus even if it locks and reports a focus lock the pictures are blurred. I have tried using exposure compensation. This seems to make the whole image dark. Then adjusting the exposure in LR the reds go again. If I try adjusting the red channel the image looks unnatural.  I'm sorry if this is a basic question but if there were any tips for natural looking ages of red red/pink flowers,  I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
