Hello,

Thank you all very much for your guesses, inputs ideas and advice !

I'll have my hands on the camera tomorrow, i'll try the raw files and check if the issue persists on both mecanical and electronic shutter

i'll upload the files of course

As I said, i bought the camera knowing it was basically sold for parts, so given the amount i paid for it, i'm more than happy with what i got

Thank you again !

Wanted to add that I experience the same thing with an x-e1 I bought used recently. But it only happens sometimes.

And the jpeg is very washed out. The raw file i can bring back to 'normal' exposure with one click of 'auto' in Lightroom. But the raw file is initially washed out too.

Here's a screen shot of my lightroom library. First two images upper left are inside the train station. When I walk outside, bam, blown out images. I tried readjusting exposure, meter reading you know, spot, average etc. Nothing fixed it. I had to find a spot with less light, much less, and the camera seems to re-adjust itself and all good from there. Weird.

This said. It's my first experience with fuji ilc. Bought a used 27mm lens for it. I'm really enjoying using the camera. One other thing not related to exposure. Focus can be hit or miss. I'm used to more modern bodies that are fast and nearly always hit focus where I want.

My first fuji? An F30 way back when.
