Re: Maxxum 5 question

I believe Renato1 was suggesting a Sony A-Mount digital camera so you can reuse the lenses from your Maxxum 5.

Unfortunately the Maxxum 5 camera isn't worth much and I don't know where you will get more than a few dollars for the body any where. Like stated above the 50mm F2.8 macro lens is worth the most from the lot and they might sell for $80 or so in excelolent shape so the most any camera retailer will likely give you for it will be around $30 - $40 if it is in excellent shape. Or you can list the equipment yourself on ebay but that can be a long wait for a sale. I see there is a 50mm macro on ebay listed as [very good] for about $50 including shipping from Japan from a well rated seller. The other lenses aren't highly sought after making their value also in the few dollar range.

I am not familiar with a 70-300mm AF zoom lens from Minolta.  Is is a 70-200, 75-300 or maybe a third party lens?

Purchase the camera you want and that best meets your needs. Don't plan being able to finance much of a new camera with your old film camera.
