Cameras with clean displays for composition

Many cameras with live view don’t allow you to clear the clutter from the rear display or viewfinder to show just the image.

Even if some of the icons are useless, e.g. a “RAW” icon, card space remaining in number of shots (“999” these days), etc., – stuff no-one alive ever wants to see on the display, never mind always.

I’m curious which cameras do, in fact, allow complete elimination of icons and text from the display while composing (and ideally shooting) a picture. I specify shooting too because some cameras spew up a bunch of rubbish the moment you half-press the shutter button to focus or meter.

Comments on why camera makers are this daft?

Supportive rants?
