I have used three different (Fuji 35 f1.4, Fuji 35 f2 WR and the Viltrox 33 f1.4) 50mm equivalent focal lengths and all are good. None stood out to me better than the other so have ended up with the Viltrox 33 f1.4 as it is the cheapest.

I have not tried the XC version of the 35 Fuji (nor the Tokina 35 f1.4 which is the Viltrox with a Tokina badge and Tokina coatings) but the optics are the same as the XF f2 WR. Not tried the Zeiss either. So I can't comment on those.

All three give good/great results and the only real limiting factor in their capability is the photographer holding the camera.

What is best for you is your guide. Do you want an extra stop of light, do you want weather sealing or would you like to save some money?

The only real consideration is the market value of your lens if you ever want to sell them ever again. The Fuji 35 f1.4 will remain more valuable. At least for a while until the new Fuji 33 f1.4 is released.

Whatever you get, the lens is better than the manual focus 50mm Henri Cartier-Bresson used and he did ok.

Four of my test images from these different lenses at their widest apertures. One additional test image at f2.8.
