Overly dark eyes in JPEGS - what to tweak?

I'm trying out an X-E3 at the moment and I'm finding that in portraits the eyes are overly dark in JPEGS (this compared to an Olympus OM-D EM10). I'm mostly using the standard film sim. What should I be looking to tweak in the camera settings to adjust this?
