I don't have this lens, but optical performance doesn't look bad at all, so I was curious how it compares to my Sigma 8-16mm. According to DxO , it's not all that different overall, but this Canon is way worse off center even on 1.6X crop Canon "APS-C"... so MFT seems a smarter use. Ironically, my A-mount Sigma is actually better on FF than APS-C at 16mm! (It vignettes badly under 14mm due to the built-in hood.)

The moral of the story is that, especially for zooms at some (not necessarily all) focal lengths, image quality can be higher on a format other than what the lens was sold for.
