DMC-G1 Full Spectrum conversion a bit disappointing :-|

Having purchased a G9, the G1 was just sitting around, used only occasionally. For full spectrum/IR work, I was using a Sigma SD15 with it's "hot mirror" removed. With that camera, I had gotten used to brown foliage because the Foveon sensor is very sensitive to infrared when used thus.

Yesterday, I collected the converted G1 and went outside to shoot some yellow flowers and grass. I was initially surprised to find that grass rendered as green and the flowers remained yellow.

Then it dawned on me ... the conversion did not remove the CFA from the sensor.

So I don't really own a FULL spectrum G1 at all. The only IR I get is what leaks through the CFA, grump.

Come back, Foveon - all is forgiven ...

Pedantry is hard work, but someone has to do it ...
