Scissor-tailed Flycatchers
10

Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, 6/17/2021, Boone County, Missouri. We had the opportunity to photograph some activity around a SCFL nest. The babies have just recently hatched but are still in the nest.

The male Scissor-tailed Flycatcher shows his underwing colors.

The male Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Shakes a tail feather.

The male takes a juicy caterpillar to the nest.

The male and female take  turns feeding young. Here they are trading duties on a branch near the nest.

It's the females turn to feed the babies. The nest is in the upper left-hand corner.

Here you can see the male watching the female on the nest. We  have not been able to see the babies yet. We will return later to photograph them.
