Shutter speed/focal length rule on crop sensor
1

Hi,

New to the community and pretty much still a beginner. I use the RX10 IV and was practicing with different shutter speeds for birding/wildlife photography.

The rule of thumb I read to reduce camera shake is to use a shutter speed of 1/focal length or faster.
How would using a cropsensor affect that rule?

Should one use the actual focal length of the lens, the ff equivalent or something in between?

As for larger wildlife and perching birds, what shutter speeds work well for you on the RX10 IV?

Edit: corrected typos
