A last few

Minis with twin Webbers are very cool but this one has a special head to do it. Back in the day, an engineer I knew took a standard mini head and bored 4 holes straight through the head, water jacket and all, and then sleeved the holes with metal tubes to give 4 straight inlet passages before fitting twin Webbers.

In his case, the Webbers stuck through the firewall and onto the parcel shelf with big fine wire mesh guards. Till they got it to run right, the thing would spit fire into the cockpit like a pig - even after it was sorted it still did it, albeit somewhat less often. The driver, who originally asked whether it was possible to make these mods, was a certifiable maniac.

The factory rally team people saw the car, mostly from the back as it was way faster than the official team cars, and promptly cast special heads with non-siamesed inlets to catch up - they got all the credit but Mr Joicey, the engineer I knew, was the originator. That man could make metal get up and dance round the room he was such a talented machinist and inventor - if you have ever used one of those spiral cutters for removing the outer coper sleeve from Pyrotenax flameproof cable, Mr Joicey invented it.
