Future of dslr lenses

I am sure this has been discussed but I am worried about the future of camera lens development.  I noticed that the Tamron sp 85mm f1.8 lens has been discontinued and nothing 85mm is available for dslr cameras.  I have also noticed that all manufactures of dslr lenses seem to be developing all kinds of mirrorless lenses but very few new dslr lenses are being developed.

I have over $20,000 of dslr camera equipment that I have acquired over the years.  Is my equipment becoming paper weights and is it not smart to invest in anymore dslr equipment.  My d850 is one of the best cameras that I have obtained and I can find no reason to change my equipment since the images coming out of them is excellent.

We have a consumer market and anything new and different people buy up, the companies know this and profit on equipment that may not be any better and can be worse than what has been available.
