New to mirrorless... help me with the lenses...

Folks, I am switching from an Olympus MFT to Canon Mirrorless - it will be the R6.

It costs quite a lot... so I have to be careful with the lenses. My main genres are portraits, weddings, events, (mostly in reportage style), plus some studio work with people. No macros, animals, astro, sports. Maybe landscapes... well, yes.

So, what can I pick if I have to save money? Used gear, of course, but which?

I consider:

  • 17-40 L
  • 100mm f2 or 85mm f1,8
  • 50mm f1.8 II
  • 70-200 L f4, no IS

I will definitely miss the long tele zoom... I am going to sell my Panasonic 100-300 which makes a nice 200-600 equivalent for the mft...

Are there any unpleasant surprises to expect when I use these lenses with an R6? Are there wiser choices?

Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II Canon EF 85mm F1.8 USM Canon EOS R6
